Scott Pfahl Obituary

On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Scott B. Pfahl, loving husband and devoted father of two children, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Scott was born in 1962 in Columbus Ohio to Dr. S Baird Pfahl and Phyllis B. "Fifi" Pfhal. He grew up in Huron, Ohio and graduated cum laude from Huron High School in 1980. He was a three-year letter recipient on the Varsity Football Team (Co-Captain his senior year) and three-year member of the National Honor Society. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude) at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1984. At Miami University, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, In 1986, Scott entered Case Western Law School where he was on the Law Review for three years. Scott graduated from Case with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) (cum laude) in 1989. Scott began his law career at Squire, Sanders, and Dempsey in Cleveland, Ohio as an Associate and moved back to Huron to practice law with Richard DeLamatre, J.D. While in Huron, he ran for Judge of the Huron Municipal Court and was very active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Erie County. He transferred to the Squire Sanders office in Columbus, Ohio. Scott moved to Georgia in 1999 and was an Associate with King & Spalding in Atlanta specializing in corporate defense case for large corporations.  In 2016 he established his own law practice, Pfahl Law in Newnan, Georgia specializing in immigration and general law.

On September 25, 1999 Scott married Solange (Shanks) in the Bahamas. They have two sons, Scott (18) and Cameron(15).  Scott was a devoted family man.  His greatest joys was spending time with his wife and sons at home, going to Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United games, or cheering on the boys' at their soccer games. They enjoyed family vacations to the beach, lake and Brazil.  In addition to being a wonderful husband, father, son and brother, he was a friend to all.  Scott was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis B. "Fifi" Pfahl.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Solange, two sons, Scott and Cameron, father, Dr. S. Baird Pfahl, Huron, Ohio, brothers Douglas (Christie) Pfahl, Sandusky, Ohio, Daniel (Melissa) Pfahl, Springboro, Ohio, and Todd (Natalie) Pfahl, Cummings  Georgia and many cherished nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Hillcrest Chapel with Reverend David Jones officiating.
