Roscoe Coalson Obituary

Mr. Roscoe Melvin Coalson, 91, of Newnan, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation.

Born January 3, 1930 in Tallapoosa, Georgia, he was a son of the late Joseph Clark Coalson and the late Mable Kate Gilley Coalson.  Mr. Coalson attended Arnco Baptist Church and was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.  He was retired from Bonnell and later worked at Cardinal Gates and West Georgia Tool & Die.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Knott Coalson; brothers, James Arthur Coalson, Buford Joseph Coalson, and Robert Coalson; and sisters, Edas Mae Palmer, Ruby Lee Coalson, and Alice Florence Fepper.

Survivors include his sister, Virginia Joan Clay, and sister-in-law, Peggy Coalson, both of Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Tim Stitcher and Pastor Mike Mallory officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Buddy Dingler, Johnny Harper, Matt Veal, Brian Veal, Shannon Dunn, and Chad Dunn.
