Mrs. Rosa Mae Soles, 91, of Newnan, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born May 27, 1931, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late Lavaughn Smith and the late Norah Knott Smith. Mrs. Soles was a member of Ephesus Christian Church in Clem. She enjoyed watching All My Children and collecting bells and thimbles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and would have tea parties with them. She was a wonderful cook who made the best biscuits, and she enjoyed singing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Ford and Donnie Ford, and her siblings, Marie, Alfie, Allie, Talmadge, Leonard, Bill, and Dewey.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Chard of Vila Rica; grandchildren, Stacy Baggett, Michael Ford, Jennifer Chandler, Harrison Ford, Michelle Downward, Marcus Ford, and Sean Ford; and a number of great-grandchildren, including Rachel Chandler and Caroline Chandler.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Tim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
