Ronald "Moose" Kimble Obituary

Mr. Ronald “Moose” Kimble, 77, of Newnan, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born January 12, 1943 in Newnan, he was the only son of the late Johnnie Washington Kimble and the late Winnie Brooks Kimble.  Moose was a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church and enjoyed watching and playing all types of ball, but especially basketball.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who touched the lives of many people throughout our community.  He was so much more than just Moose to so many people and in the words of his granddaughter was a “Giant of a Man”.  Moose enjoyed fishing but he was really a fisher of men, witnessing to people whenever he had the chance.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Barrows and Wanda Gilley.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce A. Kimble; daughters, Teresa Ann Harrison (Tony) of Gainesville, Sherry Hatcher of Newnan, and Lisa Witter (Rick), also of Newnan; grandchildren, Amber Renee Johnson, Lacey Ann Thompson, Tiffany Michelle Smith, and Dylan Alexander Witter; great-grandchildren, Sara Nicole Reese, Johnny Waco Johnson, III, Braylin Lee Johnson, Conner Wyatt Johnson, and Lucas Andrew Rogers; a special niece, Sandra Cochran, and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private graveside service in Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Rick Witter officiating.  A public memorial service will be held later at New Lebanon Baptist Church after the current pandemic subsides.  The family will receive friends at Hillcrest Chapel on Friday, May 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., during this time all social distancing guidelines must be followed and no more than 10 people will be allowed in the building at one time.
