Mr. Rodney “Rod” Lee Brooks, 57, of Sharpsburg, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at his residence.
Born December 25, 1964, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late Elmer Lee Brooks and the late Pauline Hughes Brooks. Rod was an active member of Crossroads Church where he formerly served as an Elder, Discipleship Group Leader, Youth Leader, and Community Group Leader. He served his community as a member of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners for twelve years. Rod was a general contractor and the owner and operator of Brooks Construction for many years and was a member of the National Home Builders Association. When not working, or serving his community, Rod enjoyed spending time on Lake Martin, fishing, and boating. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cindy Brooks; daughters, Kassie Brooks Peterson, and Holly Brooks; grandson, Grady Peterson; brothers, Tony Brooks (Denecia), and Stan Brooks; sister, Stacey Brewer (Bob); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the main campus of Crossroads Church, 3260 GA-16, with Dr. Kevin L. King, Sr., Cindy’s brother and professor at Liberty University, Pastor Ken Adams, lead pastor at Crossroads Church, and Pastor Drew Karschner, lead pastor at Northridge Church in Rochester, NY, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Randy Gravitt and Tim Ciminnisi officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Church. The service may be viewed via Facebook Live on the Crossroads Church Facebook page.
Serving as Pallbearers are Brad McBrier, Ethan Harper, Shane Harper, Trent Harper, Josh Hollums, Justin Hollums, Bobby Channell, and Timmy Channell.
Immediately following the committal service, all are welcome to attend a reception, with food and fellowship, at Kassie’s House, 85 Beechvalley Drive in Sharpsburg.
