Richard "Allen" Chapman

Loving husband and father, Richard “Allen” Chapman of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Allen was born in Troy, AL on August 20, 1957, to Olin and Mary Allen Chapman who preceded him in death. He graduated from Charles Henderson High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University. Allen was exceptionally passionate and dedicated to his family as well as an avid sports fan and traveler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Arlyn; son, Andrei; sister, Ann (Camden) of Athens, AL; nieces, Dr. Leanne Whitaker, of Athens, AL; Ashley Hansel (Philip), of Athens, AL as well as numerous family members and friends around the globe.

While we are saddened by his passing, we find peace in knowing we will see Allen again when Jesus Christ calls us to our final home in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his son, Andrei, for ongoing education and college expenses at Delta Community Credit Union.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Sam Evangelista officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
