Regis Joseph Bogolin, 88, of Newnan, passed away, peacefully Sunday morning, December 4, 2022, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Regis was reunited in Heaven with his wife and best friend of 53 years, Grace; his parents, Mary Margaret and Joseph Phillip Bogolin; his brother David; and two grandsons Roger Lee Potter, Jr., and Christopher Brian Potter. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania December 28, 1933, and at the age of 13 his family moved to Long Beach, Mississippi, where Regis graduated from Long Beach High School in 1951. Regis was a Veteran, having served two years in the United States Army with an assignment in Japan. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Long Beach, MS, returning to work with the Armco Construction Company where he traveled throughout the Southeastern United States working construction projects. In 1963, he moved to Forest Park, GA, and began a career of nearly 30 years as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service. In 1980 they became part owners in the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Jonesboro, GA, where he also worked part time as the Head of Maintenance. Upon retiring from the USPS in 1990, he devoted his full time to the Golf Course. In 1999, he retired again and moved to Newnan to become a full-time grandfather.
Survivors include his sons, Joseph Bogolin (Debra) of Newnan; Roger Potter (Jean) of Newnan; Andy Potter (Patricia) of Montgomery, AL; Claude Potter (Sheila) of Lexington NC; daughter, Judy Head of New York, NY; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Bogolin (Carol) of Diamondhead, MS; sister, Lorraine Brown of Hampton, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel. Burial Services will be Private.
