Perry Woods, 67, of Luthersville, died Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born January 15, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Norman Woods and the late Mary Lizzie Williams Woods. Perry was a proud member of the Federation Free And Accepted Mason of Georgia, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to the community through his involvement and leadership. Perry loved football and was an ardent supporter of the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs, his spirit and enthusiasm on game days were infectious. Win or lose, Perry's loyalty to his teams never wavered except for a few chosen words. He found pleasure in the simple things in life, like cooking for his loved ones and seeking out the perfect find while shopping. His culinary skills were only matched by his taste for adventure in the aisles of stores, always on the lookout for something special to share with his family. Perry enjoyed binge-watching his favorite TV series with his wife on Saturdays and Sundays. One of Perry's proudest moments was seeing his son Cavalli becoming a soldier in the United States Army. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness to his family and friends, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Woods, and a sister, Arvella Woods.
Survivors include his wife of 7 years, Clover Campbell Woods; his sons, Perry Michael Woods, Cavalli Jahad Woods, and Austin Khegan Brown; brother, Charlie Woods; sister, Mary Woods; grandchildren, Phalyn Woods, Demi Pottinger, and Dane Pottinger; nephew, Don Woods; nieces, Ashley Woods, and Candy, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Luthersville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
