Patsy Tate Obituary

Mrs. Patsy Charlotte Hayes Tate, of Riverdale, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Tate was born on January 27, 1942, in Grantville, daughter of the late Foy and Ruby Booker Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James H. Tate Jr., and her eldest son James Emory Tate. Mrs. Tate was a graduate of Newnan High School, and enjoyed crafting, flower arranging, gardening, and spending time with family and friends at Jackson Lake. She was a member of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale, Georgia for many years, and retired from JCPenney in Forest Park, Georgia.

Survivors include her children, Gary Tate of Riverdale, Georgia, and Kim (Tate) and Steve Brown of Newnan, Georgia; and grandchildren, Allison Hancock, Chris Tate, and Alex and Kirsten Brown.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
