Patricia Moreland (Turner) Phillips

Mrs. Patricia Ann Moreland Phillips, 53, of Hogansville, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

Born September 26, 1966 in Habersham, Georgia, she was a daughter of James Willie Turner, Jr. and the late Nila Sue Poucher Turner.  Patricia was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and played the piano and sang at church and many other places. Before her early retirement back in 2016 due to health problems, Mrs. Phillips worked for Flash Foods Convenience Store for just shy of 25 years and spent most of that time managing the Thomas Crossroads location in Newnan. She was very well known in that community and remembered by most as Mrs. Trish.  She loved praising the Lord, reading the Bible, and teaching others about the Bible.  Patricia had a great love for others and was always encouraging.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Turner.

Survivors include her husband Donnie W. Phillips; stepdaughter, Katelyn Phillips of Greenville; father and step-mother, James W. Turner, Jr. and Connie Tuner of Sharpsburg; brother, James R. Turner (Amanda) of Hogansville; sisters, Bonnie Hornbuckle (John) of Moreland, and Michelle Turner of Carrollton; grandchildren, Carter and Carson; many nieces & nephews including Julie Lowe; and great-nieces and nephews, Cameron and Grayson.

A private graveside service will be held in New Heights Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Greg Morris officiating.  A public celebration of Patricia’s life is planned and will be announced after the current pandemic subsides.
