Myrtle Wilbur Obituary

Mrs. Myrtle Newman Wilbur, 84, of Newnan, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 surrounded by her children.

Born August 22, 1935 in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Roger Newman and the late Lucy Smith Newman.  She loved her family unconditionally. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren always came first. She loved her flowers, she could break a stem from a bush anywhere, come home stick it in the ground and it would always grow. She loved riding the back-county roads of Heard Co. reminiscing about the families and people she grew up with. She also loved walking in old cemeteries and telling us who was who and where they had lived. Two things everyone will always remember about mama are her stories and she always spoke mind. Our family will miss her greatly.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Allen Wilbur, Jr. and Joseph Newman Wilbur; a granddaughter, Carol Ann Wilbur; and nine siblings.

Survivors include her daughters, Tamba Fuller (Don) of Kathleen, GA, Bonnie Wilbur Barnes of Newnan, and Monica Haynes (Chris) of Moreland; son, Andrew Wilbur of Newnan; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private graveside service in Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Richard Clay officiating.  A public memorial service is planned for a later date and will be announced after the current pandemic subsides.
