Michael Knight, 55, of Richmond, Texas, died on July 14, 2024, in Houston, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on May 29, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of Barbara Knight and the late Albert M. Knight. Michael's career as a Network Engineer at Yokogawa Corporation America was marked by his exceptional intelligence and dedication. Colleagues revered him as a tech wizard, a title he earned through his uncanny ability to solve complex technical problems with ease and creativity. His expertise was not confined to one place; Michael's skills were in demand across the globe. He traveled extensively for his work, leaving his mark in Japan, South Korea, Africa, and on numerous offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. An outdoor enthusiast, Michael found solace and joy in nature. His love for the outdoors was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and he enjoyed fishing and camping, surrounded by the serenity of the wilderness. Michael's selflessness was evident in every aspect of his life. He was always the first to offer help, whether it was assisting a neighbor with a home project or mentoring a young professional in his field. His generosity knew no bounds, and he often went out of his way to support those in need. Those who knew Michael will remember him as a loving, intelligent, and selfless individual. His impact on the world was as profound as it was positive, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were touched by his kindness and his spirit.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Susan E. Knight; sons, Andrew Knight, and William Nichols; daughters, Alicia Mullins (Justin), Emily Hahn (Adam), Helen Knight, and Alice Knight; his mother, Barbara Knight; and brother, Christopher Knight.
