Mr. Michael Lee Holtzclaw, 75, of McDonough, passed away, Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his residence in McDonough Ga.
Born February 25, 1948, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Ralph L. Holtzclaw and the late Gaynell Braswell. Mr. Holtzclaw retired in 1998, as Fire Captain, at Station 16, with the City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department. During his 31 years of service, he received many awards and recognition during his career. He was co-owner of The Firing Line Gun Shop from 1980 to 1991, a Certified Master Gardener, a gun enthusiast with weekly visits to Autrey’s Armory Range, an avid ammo reloader and loved spending time with family, friends and his beloved fur baby Bella. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carla Holtzclaw, sister Carolyn Hornsby and fur baby Sadie Mae.
Survivors include his Son, Rob Holtzclaw (Veronica) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Daughter, Dawn Smith (Michael) of Rome, Step-daughters, Tonya Langley (Tony) of Senoia, Trina Hammett (Greg) of Sharpsburg, Grandchildren, Jake Holtzclaw, Haley Pfotzer, Kyle Turner, Devin Langley, Landon Langley, Mason Langley and Shane Hammett, and seven Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Holtzclaw's wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
