M. Lamar Mitchell

Mr. M. Lamar Mitchell, 84, of Sharpsburg, passed away, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family.

Born May 18, 1938, in Senoia, to the late Alfred Mitchell and the late Marjorie Bell Mitchell. Lamar made his living as a tire recapper for 40 years before retiring with Edward Warren Tire Company.  He was a member of Turin Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Hawkeye Hunting Club and an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Le Roy Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sharon Mitchell; sons, Leon Hobbs and Tony Mitchell (Cassie); grandchildren, Ashley Clark (Colby), Michael Hobbs, Morgan Mitchell, Mackenna Mitchell, and Macy Mitchell; great grandchildren, Jaxson Clark, Jacob Clark, and Savannah Clark; sisters, Elizabeth Beard (Johnny), Geraldine Johnson (Fallon), Helen Mitchell, and Betty Anne White (Bruce); as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held, Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will be private.
