Linda M. Cook

Ms. Linda M. Cook, 74, passed away, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, after a very short battle with COVID-19.

Born November 4, 1945 in Durand, GA, she was the daughter of the late George R. McDonald, Sr. and the late Sara F. McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dianne Mote; and brother, George R. McDonald, Jr.

Linda was a simple woman with sharp wit, who enjoyed working in her yard and was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves. She was the office manager for a psychology business in Newnan and worked up until her hospitalization. She was her daughter's best friend and they treasured spending time together. Linda enjoyed spending leisure time with her close friends. She always had a servant's heart and was endlessly helping others.   

Survivors include her daughter, Lydia Cook; sister, Myra Norton; and brothers, Derrel F. McDonald (Dorcas) and Robert Phillip McDonald, Sr. (Mollie); and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Glenn Whiddon officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday at the funeral home.  She was a huge advocate for the mental health of others and the family asks that in lieu of flowers if you would please donate to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), NAMI Georgia, 4120 Presidential Pkwy., #200 Atlanta, GA 30340.
