Kelly Dianne Langford Carter, 50, of Newnan, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at her residence in Newnan, Georgia.
Born March 16, 1973, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Linda Bishop Sutherland and Robert Jerry Langford. Kelly was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She was a woman of deep faith, a true believer who found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Kelly had a special fondness for birds and squirrels, often spending her afternoons watching and feeding them. Her love for these small creatures was a testament to her gentle spirit and her appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Kelly also owned several dogs and cats throughout her life that she loved dearly. Known for her sweet yet stubborn nature, Kelly was often described as "tiny and fierce." She was a woman of strong convictions, never afraid to stand up for what she believed in. Her spirited nature was balanced by her thoughtful and loving heart, making her a cherished friend and confidante to many. Kelly was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Lucille Langford, and her maternal grandparents, Hayward and Hazel Bishop.
Survivors include her daughter, Haley Ortiz; mother, Linda Sutherland; father, Robert Jerry Langford; brother, Brad Langford (Heather); her fiancé, Johnny Chambers; nephews, Peyton Langford, and Preston Langford; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. A private burial for family only will follow at Mooty Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday starting at 11:30 a.m.
