Joyce W. Taylor

Joyce Williams Taylor, 88, of Newnan, passed away surrounded by her family, on September 7, 2022.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Chinquapin, North Carolina, on December 8, 1933, to the late Ellis and Ethyl Williams. She was a twin amongst 8 other siblings. She left North Carolina as a young adult and began working at the pentagon with her sister Mary and several friends. At the pentagon, she met her late husband Jerry D. Taylor who was in the Navy. They wed and were married for 64 years before he passed in January of 2016. While married they lived in numerous places over the southeast while raising their two children, Darrick Taylor and Renda Getelman. They retired in Brunswick, GA where she loved sewing, her church, her animals, her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews coming to visit.

She is survived by her twin brother, Al Williams, two children, numerous grand and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside, on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery in Brunswick, GA, for close friends and families.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hart County Animal Rescue in Hartwell, GA in honor of her love for animals.
