Joseph Adam, Sr. Obituary

Joseph P. Adam, Sr., 90, of Newnan, passed away, on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Born on September 12, 1933, in Alexandria, Egypt, to the late Prosper Adm and the late Yolanda Adm. He moved to Lebanon at the age of 27, finished his engineering education, and started his own construction company. Due to the beginning of the war, Joe migrated to the United States in 1969 to improve his and his family’s life. Once he was established and well secured, he uprooted his parents and daughter in 1973. He fell in love and married Vanda in 1979.  After working for Foster Wheeler as a project engineer manager throughout several countries building power plants, he retired in 1988.  He then worked for Louis Berger for another 5 years. One of his greatest accomplishments was when he worked for the Corps of Engineers, revamping the Kennedy Center. Once his daughter married and moved to Alabama, he and Vanda moved to be closer to them and the grandkids. He took a job at the Atlanta airport as project manager for three years and at the age of 75 he finally retired.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vanda Adam; daughter, Jacqueline Hodnett (Glenn); grandkids, Jennifer, Julie, Joe and Jack; sister, Claudette Adm; and niece, Nicole Fountain.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his residence (2 Ashville Place, Newnan, GA 30265).
