Mr. Jim Patrick “Spike” Gunnoud, 60, of Sharpsburg, died Friday, January 20, 2023, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born June 8, 1962, in Waterbury, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Gunnoud, and the late Ella Louise Meehan Gunnoud. Jim grew up in Southbury, CT, and was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Waterbury. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a communicant of St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Spike worked as an MRI technician for over 30 years and enjoyed watching and playing golf. He was a funny, patriotic man who never met a stranger. He loved rock and country music, and was an avid fan of Georgia Bulldogs football, New York Giants football, and New York Mets baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Annette B. Gunnoud; son, Garrett James Gunnoud of the home in Sharpsburg; a daughter, Madison Shea Gunnoud, also of the home in Sharpsburg; brothers, Tommy Gunnoud (Hyam) of Boston, MA, Bob Gunnoud (Lori) of Cross Junction, VA, Marty Gunnoud of Southbury, CT, and Chris Gunnoud (Jill) of Woodbury, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Terry Crone officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel.
