Jerry Reid Masdon

Jerry 'Poppy' Reid Masdon bid us farewell on May 31, 2023 at the remarkable age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of humor, friendship, and cherished memories. His life started and ended in Newnan, GA, with many adventures in between.

Jerry was born in the great state of Georgia to Bobo and Willie "B" Masdon. He embarked on a journey of love, joining hands in matrimony with Louise Rainey in 1949. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, they began a family, raising three boys who brought them much joy and warmth to their lives.

As life progressed, Jerry's career path was rewarding. His work ethic led him to a long and successful career as a salesman and engineer traveling around the country. Jerry's talents were legendary. Not only could he effortlessly crack jokes that could make us laugh until
we ached, but he was also a true master of conversation with a memory that took us back into time. It was his witty remarks and that mischievous glint in his eye that transformed mere strangers into lifelong friends.

Jerry lived every moment to the fullest. An adrenaline enthusiast, he skydived, paraglided, and raced NASCAR until the age of 91.

As we bid a heartfelt farewell to this remarkable soul, let us do so with reverence and gratitude for the immense joy he brought into our lives. His infectious laughter, his ability to forge connections wherever he went, and his unwavering love for family will forever be etched in our hearts.

Our deepest condolences go out to his three sons, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, who continue to carry his legacy of love and laughter.

Join us on Saturday, June 10, 2023, as we gather to remember and honor the life of Jerry Masdon. The viewing and visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 am. We will then proceed to Forest Lawn Memorial Park for a graveside service with military honors. Afterward, please join us for lunch at the home of Jerry Masdon, located at 105 Melrose Court, Peachtree City.
