Jerry Lee Long, 74, of Fairburn, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Fairburn. Born on March 28, 1951, in Logan, West Virginia, to the late Jesse Long and the late Marie Long. Jerry was a man whose hands were rarely still, always finding solace and joy in the hum of a well-tuned engine.
Jerry was a passionate Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. His love for the open road was matched only by his extensive collection of tools, each with its own story and place in his heart. Jerry was also known as a hamburger and ice cream connoisseur, where he approached each meal with the same enthusiasm he had for his other interests.
Survivors include his daughters, Jessie Lee (Dylan) and Teza Hicks: son, Christopher Long; grandchildren, Tyler Long, Krista Long, Charlye Haney, Skylar Haney, Iris Lee, Karri Reid, Kylee Davis, and Isabella Hicks; brothers, Jeff Long (Melinda), Ray Nolan (Ann), and Ricky Long (Janice).
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel with Minister Leigh Hinesley officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
