Janice Elaine Wolfe, 79, of Carrollton, died Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Carrollton Manor.
Born April 9, 1945, in Newnan, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lynn Alius Smith and the late Ruby Parker Smith. A member of the Roopville Baptist Church, Janice found joy in fellowship with her church family and her kindness and warmth were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Janice's love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, and her home was a hub of laughter, love, and the irresistible aroma of her famous biscuits and chocolate cake. Her creative spirit shone brightly through her hobbies, and she found solace and joy in crochet, meticulously crafting beautiful afghans that are now cherished keepsakes. Her love for the music of Elvis and Conway Twitty often filled the room, setting the backdrop for many family gatherings and quiet afternoons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Cecil Smith, Jackie Stanford, and Jerry Lynn Smith.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Wilson (Kent), and Michael Pannell (Teri); sister, June Bowman, grandchildren, Christy Horihan (Joseph), Michael Wilson (Amber), Allison Teague (Jeffery), and Meagan Deerman (Steven); great-grandchildren, Willow Horihan, Abel Horihan, Cheyenne Wilson, Aurora Posey, Austin Posey, Kendrew Teague, Korbyn Teague, Raylynn Deerman, and Kaysen Deerman; special friend, Jervis Shelnutt; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Nathan Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
