Mr. James Richard Springle, Sr., 78, of Newnan, died Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Sacred Journey Hospice in Newnan.
Born June 18, 1944, he was a son of the late George Washington Springle and the late Mary Elizabeth Croom Springle. Mr. Springle was retired from IBM and was a very tech-oriented person who loved working with computers and spreadsheets. He also owned and operated his own business as a project planner. Mr. Springle volunteered his time with Alcoholics Anonymous for many years and was instrumental in the construction of an AA facility in Southport, North Carolina. Jim loved the ocean and spent most of his life living near the sea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Walter Roy “Ricky” Eason.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Darrington Springle; sons, James Springle, Jr., Michael Springle, Jeremy Springle, and Mitch Eason; daughter, Bekki Thomas; and a number of siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Mike White and Pastor David Arrington officiating.
