Imogean (Pilgrim) Barker

Mrs. Imogean Pilgrim Barker, age 89, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at Ansley Park Health & Rehabilitation.

Imogean enjoyed reading, working in her flower gardens, and caring for her many cats over the years.  She was blessed in her final months to be cared for by the loving staff at Ansley Park Health & Rehab of Newnan.  Imogean was born April 29, 1933, in Rome, Georgia to the late Harrison Pilgrim, Sr. and Bernice McBrayer Pilgrim. Along with her parents, Imogean is preceded in death by her husband, James G. Barker, and brothers Harrison Pilgrim, Jr and Houston Pilgrim and her beloved sisters-in-law.

Cherishing her memory now are Imogean’s children, Sharon Stephens of Sharpsburg, GA, Michael (Sharon) Stephens of Gainesville, GA, and David (Teresa) Stephens of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Brian (Dianna) Fields of Cary, NC, Chad (Ginny) Cantrell of Washington, GA, Joshua (Emanuella) Stephens of New York, NY, Stephanie (Jeremy) Duncan of Newnan, GA, Jessica (Tripp) Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Morgan (Monique) Stephens of Montgomery, AL, and Rebekah Stephens of Newnan, GA;  great-grandchildren, Dylan Wallace, Dennis Chappell, Oliver Fields, Zoey Duncan, Sloane Johnson, Emily Duncan, Fletcher Johnson, Whit Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the graveside, in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road in Stockbridge, with Chaplain Marc Smith officiating.
