Hudson Allan Payton, 5, of Sharpsburg, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
Born May 5, 2016 in Fayetteville, he was the son of Denver Allan Payton and Melissa Renee Fields Payton. Hudson was a student at Stonebridge Early Learning Center and enjoyed playing with Legos and watching P J Masks. Hudson loved his family and affectionately referred to them as “his people”, and whenever he was picked up from school he would ask “who’s coming to my house today?” Hudson wanted to make sure he said a prayer before every meal, and that everyone was holding hands. Hudson was a wonderful, loving little boy who will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents, Denver and Melissa Payton; sister, Caroline Payton; grandparents, Allan and Paige Payton, Pina and David Payne, Cheryl and Jerry Griffin, and Tony and Mary Fields; aunts and uncles, Anthony and Danielle Fields, Maria Driver, Cody Griffin, Sara Payton, and Jack Payton; and numerous cousins, other family members, friends, and "framily".
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Thomas Crossroads Campus of Crossroads Church with Pastor John Hobbs, Pastor Chip Gordon, and Buck Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Alton Midgett officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Larry Gasaway, Evin Rhodes, Dustin Walton, Spencer Harris, Derek Dupree, and Josh Yarbrough.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you donate a children’s book for a library being established in Hudson’s honor to Sara-Ann Payton, 9 Donnan Trace, Newnan, GA 30263 or to Abby’s Angels Foundation, PMB 154, 1741 Newnan Crossing Blvd, Suite O, Newnan, GA 30265 in memory of Hudson.
