Mr. Hoyt Floyd Plumley, 76, of Griffin, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston.
Born October 24, 1945, in Atlanta, he was a son of the late U. L. Plumley, and the late Viola Ayers Plumley. Mr. Plumley was of the Baptist Faith and was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Plumley worked as a certified ship captain for the U. S. Merchant Marines. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Julie D. Plumley; sons, Tommy Plumley (Peggy) of Griffin, Jamie Plumley of Newnan, Chuck Plumley (Jennifer) of Troup County, Jeremy Watkins (Ashley) of Peachtree City, and Bryan Watkins of Griffin; brothers, A. J. Plumley of Canton, and Robert Plumley of Kernersville, NC; sisters, Dianne Wade of Newnan, Elizabeth Roper of Woodstock, and Christine Rogers of Vila Rica; grandchildren, Austin Plumley, Amber Plumley, Michelle Plumley, Jessica Plumley, Elise Watkins, Brennan Watkins, James Plumley, and Hannah Plumley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Todd McClain officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
