Howard "Lee" Smith

Mr. Howard “Lee” Smith, 61, of Sharpsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 13, 1958 in Biloxi, MS, son of the late John Howard Smith and the late Sammie Joe Smith.   Mr. Smith made his living as a painter, before retiring in 2009 due to medical issues. He was affectionately known as “Cowboy” to his friends and family; and he will be truly missed by all. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Teena Kinney.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patricia Smith; daughters, Shannon Hammonds (Tony), Brandie Woitena (Justin) and Ashley Massengale (Brad); grandchildren, Alyssa, Austin, Kalum, Briana and Coralee; sisters, Brenda Smith (Andrew) and Terri Conner (Scott); brother, Jerry Smith (Emily); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Wayne Settle officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
