Henry Edward Maritz

Henry Edward Maritz, age 81, of Roanoke, formerly of Newnan, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at his home.

A New Jersey native, Mr. Maritz was born on November 30, 1941, in Plainfield, but grew up in Martinsville. He was the son of Henry Arthur and Beate Amelia Stranzenbach Maritz.  Mr. Maritz had worked as a truck driver.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debra Maritz.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ann Maritz Olson of New Jersey; three sons, Daniel Maritz of New Jersey, Richard Maritz (Bridget) of Pennsylvania, and Patrick Maritz (Jennifer) of Senoia, GA.; grandchildren, Taylor, Julia, Hannah, Emma, Zachary, Jacob, and Silas Maritz; great-granddaughter, Willow; and one sister, Robin Maritz of Newnan, GA.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor T. J. Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
