Mrs. Glovis Mae Lockridge, 81, of Grantville, widow of the late John Daniel Lockridge, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.
Born November 20, 1939, in Handy, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey Brown and the late Retha Maude Crider Brown. Mrs. Lockridge was of the Baptist Faith and loved to read her Bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and “telling her tales”. In her younger years she enjoyed working her flower garden and sewing. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Brown, and a brother, W. A. Brown.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie M. Hammond of Grantville, and Patsy M. Faulkner of Senoia; brothers, Eddie Brown of Newnan, Stanley Brown (Linda) of Newnan, and Hugh Dorsey Brown, Jr. (Dianne) of Lowell; grandchildren, Amanda Joiner (Jared), Brandi Turner, and Brittany Spradlin (Matt); great-grandchildren, Alexis Joiner, Madison Armstrong, Landon Joiner, Channing Spradlin, Sarah Spradlin, Laney Spradlin, Logan Spradlin, and Kayden Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Donny Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
