Floyd L. Legg

Floyd Lavern Legg (90 years old) passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home in Newnan, Georgia.  He was born August 03, 1930 in Sumner, Illinois to the late Elvin O. and Chloe Fornshell Legg.

He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Illinois and a BS degree from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Second Class on the USS Van Valkenburgh DD 656 during the Korean Conflict.  Floyd was the owner of Earth Resources, LLC.

He is survived by his wife Vickie; daughter Nerissa Baniak (Mark); sons Kevin Legg (Camille), Douglas Legg (Tammy); step-children Brent Sawyer (Nona), Nick Eversoll (Brandy), Alex Eversoll (Jessica); brother Arthur Legg( Shirley); sisters Reta England (James); grandchildren: Audrey, Erika, Sven, David, Jonathan, Jamie, Trent, Kiley, Lance, Alexis, Victoria, Rhett, Emery, Asher, Judah, and Hava; niece Susan Decker; nephews Stace England, Eric Legg, and Brad Legg.

Preceded in death by sister Verda McKinney; and step-son Kristopher Hunt (Christina).

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Apostle Deborah Sheppard officiating. The service will be live streamed on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FuneralStaff1. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
