Mrs. Evelyn Marie Rudd, 92, of Loganville, widow of the late Cordis Rudd, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Gateway Gardens Assisted Living in Bethlehem, Georgia.
Born November 20, 1927 in Arden, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Harley Eugene Hare and the late Callie Marie Lewis Hare. Mrs. Rudd was an active member of Newnan First United Methodist Church for over 25 years where she worked in the kitchen and held numerous leadership roles. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking for others, traveling, working in her garden, and painting and drawing. Mrs. Rudd loved her children and especially her grandchildren and was known as the “World’s Best Momma”. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Rudd, son-in-law, George Foster, and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Evelyn Foster of Weatherford, TX; sons, Barry Rudd (Bonnie) of Loganville, and Brian Rudd (Martie) of Lawrenceville; daughter-in-law, Silvia Rudd of Moreland; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 30, 2020 in Hillcrest Chapel with Reverend Gary Parrish, Reverend Charles Robinson, and Reverend Eric Polk officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Committal service will be private.
