Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Clements, 73, of McDonough, widow of the late Dennis L. Clements, Jr., died Friday, January 7, 2022, at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Born May 31, 1948, in Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Milton McElwaney, Sr., and the late Annie Lee Baswell McElwaney. Mrs. Clements was a faithful member of New Heights Baptist Church in Sharpsburg for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and was an enthusiastic fan of Georgia Bulldogs Football and the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by Sisters, Margaret Perkins, and Mary Harrelson; and brother, William McElwaney.
Survivors include her children, Teresa L. Caviness (Larry) of Austell, Sharon K. Price of Temple, Robert D. Richey (Anecia) of Pooler, and Jimmy W. Richey, Jr. of McDonough; brothers, Milton McElwaney, Jr. (Rose) and Walter McElwaney, Sr. (Sara Lynn); sister, Marie Rowlett (Larry); 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at New Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Evans and Pastor Greg Morris officiating. Mrs. Clements will lie in state at the Church, one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.
