Diane Ackerman Obituary

Mrs. Diane Smith Ackerman, 76, left this world to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at her residence.

Born February 11, 1946, in Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Smith and the late Cora Dunaway Smith. Diane was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she truly had a heart of gold. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, reading, playing her zoo game on Facebook, and just sitting under the tree in her yard enjoying the fresh air with a big love for red cardinal birds. Diane loved most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You will always be in our hearts forever and a day! Roll Tide Roll!

Survivors include her sons, David Holmes (Megan), Lanney Holmes (Carla), and Jason Hardin (Lisa); daughters, Lynn McStatts (Charlotte), and Barbara McStatts; grandchildren, David Holmes, Jr. (Laura), Jeremy Holmes (Haley), Maddie Holmes, Allie Holmes, Hailey Bruce, Jason Bruce, Ryker Holmes, Jentsen Holmes, Adalynn Holmes, and Destiny Turner; and great-grandchildren, Remi Holmes, and River Burson.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Diane Ackerman will be announced at a later date.
