Dennis Wayne Babb

Mr. Dennis Wayne Babb, 71, of Newnan, died Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born December 13, 1948 in Gaffney, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Roy McKenzie Babb, Jr., and the late Evelyn Oree Spencer Babb.  Mr. Babb was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was retired from Local 1940 International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.  He enjoyed fishing and camping and gardening.  He also loved the beach and enjoyed scuba diving in his younger years.  He was a wonderful husband and father who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Martha K. Babb; his daughters, Shannon Renee Price (Rusty) of Brooklet, GA, Jennifer Leigh Davis (Terrance) of LaGrange, Margaret Denise Babb (Eric Barnett) of Newnan, and Elizabeth Ann Babb of Brooklet; sister, Libby Milar of Simpsonville, SC; brothers, Rick Babb of Gastonia, NC, and Peter Babb of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Annaleah Davis, Vanessa Babb, Michelle Harris, Michael Harris, and Kamren Barnett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the graveside on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Alton Midgett officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.  All Social Distancing protocols will be observed at both the funeral and the visitation, and the number of people inside the funeral home will be regulated.
