David "Mike" M. Pope

David M. “Mike” Pope, 75, of Newnan, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his residence.

Mike was born on December 7, 1949, in Laurel, MS to the late Edward D. Pope and the late Edna P. Pope. He was a veteran of the US Army. He worked as a mechanic/welder for AirTran Airways before retiring and was a longtime member of Unity Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Pope.

Survivors include his children, John Fulcher (Kerrie) of Huntsville, AL, Cheryl St. Germain (Keith) of Folsom, LA, Linda Stafford (Todd) of Lufkin, TX, Debra Town of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Rachelle Duplessis, Katelyn Rosendal (Jason), Sarah Hood (Chase), Emily Grantom (Ryan), Tyler Fulcher (Sarah), Derek Fulcher, Nicholas Fulcher and Matthew Town (Melissa); great grandchildren, Dawson Duplessis, Harrison Hood, Addison Hood, Stafford Grantom and Grace Fulcher; siblings, Edward Tyrone Pope (Bethanne), Sandra Gervais and Alanda O’ Brien (John) and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Unity Baptist Church, 311 Smokey Rd., Newnan, GA, with Dr. Doug McCart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
