David Preston Oliver

David P. Oliver, 72, passed away on October 21, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

He was born on October 14, 1951, in Newnan to the late Preston and Bertha Oliver. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany where he served as a skilled helicopter mechanic during Vietnam. He was a member of Buckcreek Masonic Lodge #639. He was a talented welder and machinist and retired from Trent Tube Division. Upon retiring, he enjoyed long haul truck driving and the opportunity to travel and see the country. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Cole.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Marie Oliver; children, Lisa Marie Yearta, Kevin Lee Oliver, Christopher Ryan Oliver and Kelly Wall (Adam); grandchildren, Brittany Chyenne Bertholf, Summer Yearta, Kaylin Wall, Austin Wall; great grandchildren, Bentley Mosley, Draco Mosley, and Willow Galka; and sister, Regina Oliver.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Senoia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
