Cody Harrison Obituary

In Loving Memory of Cody Harrison, Age 32, of Newnan, GA.

December 9, 1992 – July 7, 2025

It is with broken hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Cody Harrison, age 32, a beloved son, baby brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Cody is survived by his parents; Rocky & Dottie Harrison; his sister Jammie Michelle Beck (Stacey) and her children Brian, Drew, Gracee; his brother Jimmy Beck (Ashley) and their children Kenzie, Savannah, Bella; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Ethel & Jimmy Harrison, Bobby Waldrop Sr. & Louise Harvey. While the Lord called him home far too soon, we take comfort knowing he walked straight into the arms of the Savior he so passionately loved.

Cody was a member of UA Local Union 72 Pipefitters, following in his dad’s footsteps. Proudly carrying his and his dad’s union card in his wallet at all times. Never has there been a son that made his dad prouder than Rocky is of Cody. If you have ever been around them, you have definitely heard “My Boy, My Boy, My Baby Boy” belting loudly out of Rocky’s mouth, whether at a lacrosse game, on a jobsite or hanging out in the front yard. Cody’s deep love for his momma was as powerful as it was tender. Fiercely protective and full of playful affection, he had a nightly tradition that never failed to bring a smile: he would come into her room, remove a piece of her bedpost, grin wide, and say goodnight with a heartfelt “I love you.” It was his way of staying close, making her laugh while she pretended to be annoyed, and reminding her that her baby boy was never far.

Cody had an infectious smile that could light up the darkest room and a laugh that made you feel like everything was going to be okay—even if it wasn’t. As the adored youngest of the family, Cody made those around him feel cherished. He loved deeply, helped generously, and always made time to speak about the word of God, often retreating to his special prayer spot in the wood line of their yard to find peace and God in the stillness of nature.

He was a dreamer, a writer, and a music lover whose guitar strings echoed the joy and warmth he brought into every room. Whether sharing music with his loved ones, entertaining those around him, writing poetry, journaling, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, or making memories with friends & family, Cody embraced life with open arms and an open heart. You never had to wonder how he felt about you. If he loved you, you knew it. He said it, showed it, and ensured you felt it. Cody’s spirit, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We will miss his big hugs, his incredible smile, his deep conversations, and yes—even his singing. But more than anything, we will miss him: the gentle soul, the wild heart, the boy who never stopped loving like Jesus did.

The family will receive friends for a visitation service Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A service to celebrate Cody’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun and Pastor James Barnett officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
