Claudie Earl (“Big Earl”) Cash, 79, of Newnan, entered into the presence of Jesus at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife and kids. He was born February 9, 1942, in Quitman, Georgia, to the late Claudie Cash and Mary Cash.
Big Earl loved his family and loved his Jesus and he embraced life and lived it to the fullest. He received Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 42 and, boy, could that man pray. Big Earl coached baseball for years and influenced the lives of countless young men in so many more ways than just baseball. He was an avid gardener who loved growing tomatoes and just right turnip greens and in his later years he took up raising worms. Big Earl was a man who truly cared about others, and he brought so much effortless humor to life.
His surviving family members include his wife of 59 1/2 years, Glenda Faye Adams Cash; daughter, Kristi Cash Thompson; sons, Tim Cash (Barb), and Adam Cash (Azalee); brother, Johnny Cash; grandkids, Justin Thompson, Corey Thompson, Rachel Cash, Benji Cash (Grace), Jesse Cash (Kelsey), Hannah Cash, Caleb Cash, Josh Cash, Eli Cash; great-grandson, Cedar Cash (with 2 great-grandchildren on the way) and numerous cousins, extended family members and friends. Big Earl was under the hospice care of Homestead Hospice and the family adopted his caring, loving and compassionate nurse, Alison Manning, CNA, Devita Davis, and social worker, Emerson Cook. We are forever grateful and thankful for their care.
A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Mills Chapel Baptist Church, 85 Country Club Road, Newnan, GA 30263. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
This will be a celebration of Big Earl’s life! He loved to worship the Lord and we will have an incredible time of worship and reflection on a life well-lived!! Casual dress is recommended.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to NG3 (This is the ministry his grandson, Benji Cash, ministers with full-time.) https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?id=2&name=E346430 Under “Designate School” you MUST SELECT “MONROE HIGH”, so the donations go directly to the work Benji and Grace are doing in their community. You can also write “Earl Cash” in the “Tribute Name”.
