Mr. Charles Lamar Dial, 88, of Newnan, died Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his residence.
Born August 13, 1933, in Dalton, he was a son of the late Charles Emmett Dial and the late Annie Liza Osborn Dial. Mr. Dial was a member of Welcome All Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving during the Korean War. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed cutting wood and gardening. He also enjoyed bird hunting and horseback riding in his younger years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melodie Lynn Coopland, and a sister, Dorothy Jean Dial.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Ann Dial; daughters, Charlsie D. Cannon (Jerry) of Newnan, Deborah Nichols (Eddie) of Moreland, and Wanda Green (Walter) of Newnan; grandchildren, Julie Bower (Mike), Lee Thomas (Brandy), Amy Daniel (Tim), Jason Burton, Joshua Morris, and Gail Reese (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Pedelina Bower, Madelynn Bower, Conlan Dudley, Barrett Thomas, Hayden Burton, Jace Burton, Lily Burton, Elijah Morris, Emily Carrol, and Tanner Reese.
Funeral Services will be held on at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor R. L. Brazil officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
