Chad Coffman Obituary

Chad Christopher Coffman, 38, of Senoia, Georgia formerly of Sienna Plantation, Texas and Chatham, Illinois passed away peacefully at Grady Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2020.

Chad was born March 9, 1982 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois to Richard and Cindy Coffman. In 2000, he graduated from  Chatham Glenwood High School where he was a member of the wrestling team and State Champion football team. He went on to attend Illinois State University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Construction Management. Upon graduation, he traveled the southeast working on multiple large construction projects, priding himself on “building America great again.” In 2009, Chad returned to Springfield, Illinois where he met his wife, Diana Gurgens. They married on February 22, 2011 at the Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion in Orlando, Florida.

Together, Chad and Diana created a home in Sienna Plantation, Texas and eventually had their three miracle babies - Charleigh June (6) and twins Campbelle Rose and Coleson Richard (4).

Over the course of their marriage Chad discovered his love of animals, particularly rescuing those with special needs. His tough exterior wasn’t strong enough to turn down an animal, especially a cat, in need.

Chad enjoyed family trips to Walt Disney World, grilling for his family and friends (he was known as “The Fox Hall Grill Master”), and spending time with his wife and children.

He most recently worked for Barnsley Construction Group as a Project Manager, and volunteered at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. He dreamed of someday opening his own BBQ restaurant.

Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Betty Coffman, and Richard and Betty Barregarye. Uncles Ronald and Robert Coffman, and beloved Maine Coon William.

He is survived by his wife Diana (Gurgens) Coffman, and children Charleigh June, Campbelle, and Coleson of Senoia, GA. Parents Richard and Cindy Coffman. Sisters Brenna (Chris) Venvertloh and Ashley (Tim) Brinkman. Nephews and nieces Cameron, Bennett, Isabella, Rowan, Bryson, and Avery. Aunt and Uncle Freida and Rick Barregarye, and cousins Ryan, Kelly, and Shelby. Fur babies Cappy, James Bond, Penelope, Rocky, Harold, Geraldine Sausage, and Huey Lewis; and many friends across the country.
