Heaven is a little sweeter today as Carolyn T. Fincher passed from her earthly home on October 1st, 2020 at the age of 81 to enter her forever home living in the arms of Jesus.
Carolyn was born to Curtis and Mildred Turner on May 6, 1939 in Carrollton, Georgia. She graduated from Western High School in 1957 as the class valedictorian. She spent most of her professional career working as a bookkeeper and legal secretary. She possessed an extremely strong work ethic and always exhibited a high degree of loyalty to her employers.
First and foremost, Carolyn loved Christ, her family, and her church on Welcome Road. She was a true servant of the Lord and used her faith as an anchor to navigate through her life’s journey and challenges. Carolyn’s life was truly a living example of kindness and compassion towards everyone that she encountered, and she let that be the best testimony of God’s love that she could ever deliver as she walked the walk. She had an abiding and genuine love for everyone that she met and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Carolyn was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as a brother, Curtis Ray Turner.
Survivors include her son Greg Fincher (Lori) and her daughter Deborah Brown (Mike); grandchildren Joshua Brown, Kristina Hobbs, Tyler Brown, Kathryn Brown, Drew Fincher, and Holly Aderhold. Great-grandchildren are Hailey Hobbs, Bennett Hobbs, Liam Aderhold and Harper Leigh Brown. Carolyn is also survived by a brother, Billy Turner.
Caregivers hold a special place in the hearts of a family as they are dealing with the challenges presented by a long-term illness of a loved one. The family would like to express their gratitude for the love and care given to Carolyn by Homestead Hospice, especially Suzanne and DeVita, for the kindness and compassion that they demonstrated. Additionally, the family would like to extend a very special thanks to Kathryn Brown and Deborah Yeager. Without your love, support, and patience we would have never been able to honor her wishes to remain at her home as she battled her illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Welcome Road Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Odom officiating. Mrs. Fincher will lie in state at the Church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. All visitors will be asked to please follow social distance guidelines to keep Carolyn’s family and yours healthy during this difficult time.
