Billy H. Robertson, age 89, of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away on October 11, 2021, peacefully in his home surrounded by those closest to him.
Billy H. Robertson (PawPaw) was born in Raymond, GA on May 22, 1932, to Walter and Willie Robertson. He was the second youngest of five brothers. Although he did not have any children of his own, he cared deeply for his nieces and nephews and quickly considered his wife’s children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren as his own. He was a lifelong farmer and loved to work on the land. He raised pigs, chickens, cows, goats throughout his lifetime and missed it when he could no longer take care of the livestock. He was in the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War, which he took very seriously. Besides being a farmer, he also worked and retired from Bonnell Aluminum Extrusion Company. This is where he met his wife and love of his life, Susie Pearl Robertson, who preceded him in death in May this year. The two were married in 2004 but had been together for 49 years. He loved time with Pearl and with his family. He was a Mason, a member of the Cattlemen's Association and involved in the Old Time Driving Club in Coweta County where they would hook up old horse and buggy carriages and take tours/back roads around the area all the way down to Meriwether County. Some of his favorite past-times were hunting, especially with Norman and Bubba, fishing and working on/ riding his tractors working on his land. He was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church and would help anyone that needed it or asked. Billy was loved by many and will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. In addition to his wife and parents, Billy is preceded in death by his Stepchildren, Tommy (Doris) Lassetter and Gloria Kelly; his brothers, Louis (Hazel) Robertson, Allen (Maggielene) Robertson, Edward (Barbara) Robertson, Leon (Nellie) Robertson; and his Best Friend, Norman (Sarah) Calhoun.
Survivors include his grandson, Ron (Michelle) Cook; great-grandson’s, Chris (Julie) Cook, Thomas Cook, Ryan Cook; and three great-great grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews, Patricia (Shannon) Halsey, MaryBeth (Stanley) Ernest, Jeff (Candice) Robertson, Tammy (John) Troutman, Kevin (Anita) Robertson, Scott Robertson, Brent (Mona) Robertson, Mike Robertson, Judy (Mike) Cunningham, Tony (Martha) Robertson, Amy (Richard) Swanger, Theresa (Dwane) Williams, Sharon (Mike) Cobb, Freddie Robertson; and Bubba Calhoun who was like a son to him.
