Barbara Ann (Hand) Binion

Mrs. Barbara Ann Binion, 87, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at Ansley Park Health & Rehab in Newnan.

Mrs. Binion was born on July 22, 1932 in Atlanta, to the late Howell Hand and the late Jessie Hand. Barbara was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to read and loved working with flowers. She was also very intelligent and a great writer. You could always count on her correspondence by mail throughout her life with thank you and encouragement notes.  She will be truly missed by her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Binion; sisters, Peggy Coleman and Annette Perkins; brother, Hal Hand; and step-son, Jerry Binion.

Survivors include her children, Franky Whitlock (Elizabeth Parker), Joel Douglas Wilson (Cynthia), Shawnta Mock (Butch), Sheneequa Harmon (Robbie), Jimmy Binion (Reba), Susan Hall (Steven); Siblings, Linda Thomas (Clint), Sandra Gooch (Paul); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special niece, Ramona Coleman; and special friend, Roger Whittemore.

Funeral services for Mrs. Binion will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel with Reverend Kevin Couch officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
