Albert M. Knight, Jr.

Mr. Albert M. Knight, Jr., 82, of Sharpsburg, passed away, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born February 25, 1941, in East Point, he was a son of the late Albert M. Knight, Sr. and the late Doris Ellison Knight. Mr. Knight was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a firefighter with the city of College Park for 33 years. He also owned and operated Knights Hauling Company. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family at Lake Sinclair, and working on antique tractors. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jerry Ann Fain.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Knight of Sharpsburg; sons, Michael Knight (Susan) of Richmond, TX, and Chris Knight of Senoia; grandchildren, Alicia Mullins (Justin) of Carrollton, Andrew Knight of Newnan, Helen Knight, and Alice Knight both of Richmond, TX; and sister, Judy Whitwood of Moreland.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Brian Hosmer officiating. Interment will follow in Sharpsburg Baptist Church with military honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home, on Monday.
