Obituary

Mr. William Jennings "Bill" Bryan, Jr., 84, of Newnan, died Friday, June 21, 2024, at his residence.

Born September 25, 1939, in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the only son of the late William Jennings Bryan, Sr., and the late Nannie Rebecca Beahm Bryan. Mr. Bryan was a member of Heatherwood Baptist Church and was a United States Navy veteran. Bill worked as a video engineer for various TV stations and retired from Boeing as a NASA contributor. While working with NASA he specialized in payload systems where his work was used on the Space Shuttle program and at the International Space Station. He enjoyed woodworking and fixing things, and also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling the country in his motorhome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Elizabeth Bryan.

Survivors include his wife of 61 ½ years, Barbara Wilson Bryan; children, Cheryl Bryan Hoffler (Eric), Karlyn Renee Bryan, Susan Michelle Baxstrom (John), and Kevin Michael Bryan; grandchildren, Bryan, Lauren, Stephen, Hannah, and JP Hoffler, and Joshua, Logan, Samuel, and Mason Baxstrom; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Heatherwood Baptist Church with Dr. Joel Smelley, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
