Reverend William A. Brown, Jr., affectionately known as "Sonny" to his friends and family, was called to his heavenly home on January 12, 2024, at Tanner Hospital in Carrollton, Georgia.

Born April 25, 1951, in Newnan, he was a son of the late William A. Brown, Sr., and the late Mildred L. Helton Brown. Sonny was a man of deep faith, an Ordained Minister of the Gospel who lived his beliefs with every breath. He attended Living by Faith Church, and his spiritual journey was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in every aspect of his life. Sonny was the proud former owner and operator of Brown's Lawn Service, where his passion for flowers and landscaping allowed him to create beauty in the world. Sonny's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. An animal lover at his core, he found solace in the tranquility of fishing. His love for the outdoors was complemented by his enjoyment of travel, especially his cherished trips to the mountains. His creative spirit found expression not only in his landscaping but also in his woodworking and drawing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by aa sister, Sandra Watson.

Survivors include his wife of over 54 years, Shirley J. Brown; sons, William A. Brown, III "Shane" (Beth Rampy-Gann); and Josh D. Brown (Becky); daughter, Michelle Dutton (Dan); sisters, Marie Woodruff (Tommy), and Diane Bates; grandchildren, Caleb Dutton (Sage), Nicholas Adan, Chad Dutton, and Matt Dutton (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Eli Dutton, Avery Dutton, and Reagan Dutton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Living by Faith Church with Pastor Terry Calhoun and Pastor James Calhoun officiating. Reverend Brown will lie in state at the church, one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Hillcrest Chapel.
