Tammy Lynn
Bass
September 7, 1964 — August 25, 2026
Newnan
Tammy Lynn Bass, 61, of Newnan, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her residence.
Born September 7, 1964, in Quantico, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Bass and the late Joan Leavitt Bass. Tammy grew up in East Newnan and remained a lifelong resident there, becoming part of the fabric of the community she called home for so many years. She will be remembered as a skilled medical professional whose work touched the lives of many. Over the course of her career, she served as a phlebotomist, a pharmacy technician, and a patient care technician, bringing care, steadiness, and compassion to the people she served. Above all, Tammy loved her family and was cherished as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was found in the people she loved most, and that love shaped the warmth and strength she gave so freely throughout her life. She also found happiness in the simple pleasures that suited her spirit so well. She loved the water and enjoyed time at the beach and the lake. Summer was her season, and she delighted in being outdoors, embracing the sunshine, the fresh air, and the peace those moments brought. Tammy will be remembered for a life rooted in love, care, and quiet dedication—both in her profession and in her home. Her memory will remain close to the hearts of those who knew her and loved her, and she will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Bass.
Survivors include her children, Anthony Hammond (Constance), Clarissa Hammond (Kaleigh), and Rebecca Lopez (Victor); grandchildren, Christine Warren, Madison McGinnis, and Gabriella Lopez; great-granddaughter, Kaylani Wood; sister, Lisa Kingsbury (Mark); brother, Billy Bass; her former husband, Ronald Jackson; niece, Jessica Beusse; nephew, Levi Newton; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
The family will hold a private service at Whispering Hills Natural Green Cemetery in LaGrange with Pastor Tim Stitcher officiating.
