Susie "Pearl" Robertson, age 89, of Sharpsburg, passed on away May 6, 2021 peacefully at her home.
Pearl Robertson (maw-maw) was born in Greenville, GA on August 5,1931. She was one of 9 children and raised on a small farm. Pearl's first marriage was to Leonard Neal Lassiter and had 2 children, Tommy and Gloria. She retired from Bonnell Aluminum Extruder Company after working as a machine operator for almost 30 years. This is where she met her current husband, Billy Robertson. They were married in 2004, but have been together for 49 years. She was devoted to taking care of her family at every stage of her life. Pearl was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and could be found cheering them on during their wins and fussing at them (loudly) when they lost. She tried to never miss a game. Pearl also loved her flowers and working in her flower beds, especially her rose bushes.
Pearl is survived by her husband, Billy H. Robertson; grandson, Ron Cook (Michelle); niece, Debbie Flournoy (Mike); great-grandsons, Chris Cook (Julie), Thomas Cook and Ryan Cook; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Washington Smith and Lilian Robertson Smith; her siblings, Edna Rhindress, Elizabeth Maude Shelnutt, Fred Wesley Smith, Robert (Bob) Smith, William A. Smith, Ollie Mae Strickland; and her two children Thomas L. Lasseter (Doris) and Gloria Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Bobby Carpenter and Dr. David Hammonds. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bridging the Gap in Newnan, GA.
