Mr. Steven Leonard Hoig, 84, of Newnan, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Born on November 25, 1940, in Sacramento, California, he was the beloved son of the late Vernon Hoig and the late Gladys Winslow Hoig. Mr. Hoig proudly served in the United States Army and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from California State University at Sacramento. He then embarked on a distinguished 32-year career as a police officer for the City of Sacramento. Mr. Hoig attended Moreland United Methodist Church and found joy in playing golf and taking fishing trips to Alaska. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elva Hoig, along with several children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his sister, Veronica Russell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Moreland United Methodist Church.
