Stanley Morris Brown, 80, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on July 24, 2022, at Emory Decatur Hospital after a brave fight with cancer.

Stanley was born in Heard County, Georgia on October 3, 1941, one of six children of the late Mr. Hugh Dorsey Brown, Sr. and Mrs. Maude Crower Brown of Newnan, Georgia. He married the love of his life, Linda Brown, and they had two children Tina and Kelvin.

Stanley Brown was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps (1960-1964), proudly serving his country in Key West during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then worked at several places around Newnan; International Harvester in Hapeville; and finished his career at Newnan Utilities, where he and his wife Linda worked. He then opened his own business, Brown's Auto Repair, and worked alongside his son, Kelvin, until he retired in 2010.

He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Linda (Cheeves) Brown; daughter, Tina (Brown) Beland, and son-in-law Robert; son, Kelvin Brown, and daughter-in-law Kathy; grandson, Clint Beland, and his fiancé Maddie LaPointe; brother, Hugh Brown, Jr., and wife Diane; brother Eddie Brown (Barbara); many nieces and nephews, and many close friends. He is predeceased by his sisters, Glovis Brown Lockridge (Bud) of LaGrange; Nancy Brown of Newnan; and brother, W.A. Brown of Newnan.

Stanley had a love of country, family, and especially, baseball, enjoying his beloved Atlanta Braves; but his favorite times included the countless hours watching his grandson, Clint play ball. When he was not watching ball games, he enjoyed working on and buying & selling his classic Chevy's. He had an infectious laugh, never meeting a stranger, and he would sit around his shop, waiting to start-up the next "fish story" with whomever came by.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Hillcrest Chapel, with Pastor Griff Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan Georgia with military honors. The family will be welcoming family and friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, Georgia.
